Claudio Fenoglio

Claudio Fenoglio graduated with top marks and honors in Piano, Choral Music, and Choral Conducting from the Conservatory of Music, and later earned a degree in Composition.
Alongside his academic studies, he began working regularly in opera houses at the young age of twenty-four. He served as Assistant Chorus Master at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, working for two years alongside Maestro Franco Monego. He was later appointed by the Teatro Regio in Turin as Assistant to Maestri Claudio Marino Moretti and Roberto Gabbiani. From 2010 to January 2018, he was Principal Chorus Master of the Teatro Regio in Turin, and since 2008 he has served as Chorus Master of the Children's Choir and Director of the Choral Singing School of the same foundation.
He has worked with renowned conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda, Semyon Bychkov, Valery Gergiev, Pinchas Steinberg, Fabio Luisi, Yutaka Sado, Roberto Abbado, Christopher Hogwood, Donato Renzetti, Nicola Luisotti, Renato Palumbo, Christian Arming, Stefan Anton Reck, Michele Mariotti, and Bruno Campanella.
He has collaborated with leading opera directors including Graham Vick, Laurent Pelly, Willy Decker, Hugo de Ana, Andrei Konchalovsky, Damiano Michieletto, Davide Livermore, Mario Martone, Ettore Scola, Michele Placido, Calixto Bieito, Kasper Holten, Giuliano Montaldo, and David McVicar.
Under the baton of Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, he conducted the Teatro Regio Chorus to great acclaim on international tours in Japan, China, Germany, Spain, France, Russia, Scotland, Canada, the United States, Finland, Switzerland, and Oman. As Chorus Master of the Teatro Regio, he has made numerous recordings for the Deutsche Grammophon and Chandos labels in both symphonic-choral and operatic repertoire.
In the field of education, he holds a permanent teaching position in Choral Conducting and Choral Repertoire at the “G.F. Ghedini” Conservatory in Cuneo.
In 2021, he was appointed by Maestro Roberto Gabbiani to lead the Children's Choir of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, where he assisted in preparing titles for the opera and concert seasons and coordinated the preparatory courses of the Choral Singing School.
In 2023, he began a collaboration with the Teatro Regio di Parma, invited by General Manager Luciano Messi, taking on the role of Educational Director of the Children’s Choral Singing School.
He is also the author of Sing Reading (volumes 1 and 2), published by Volontè & Co. in Milan—a method specifically designed to teach musical reading through singing and choral voice training.
