Leonard Bernstein’s favored assistant, Yutaka Sado has established himself in recent decades as a key figure in Central European music thanks to his sensitivity and clarity in highlighting the structures of the works he conducts. Together with the TRT Philharmonic, he continues the exploration of Bruckner’s compositions with Symphony No. 5, in which the composer returns to the classical four-movement form with a slow introduction. The work features magical solo moments alternating with powerful full-orchestra tutti, extended contrapuntal passages, and a thrilling finale that remains etched in the memory.
